Figure 3. Trend in average sleep duration across increasing physical activity groups. The most
dramatic decline occurs between the low-activity and moderate-activity cohorts — a drop of nearly
two hours — consistent with the time-displacement hypothesis: as exercise commitment grows, sleep
is the first resource sacrificed from the daily schedule.
